Standard rate
I charge a research rate of 30 euro per hour or part thereof.
Priority charge
I make a one-off charge of 30 euro to give your enquiry priority over other
research. This charge is payable in advance in addition to the deposit detailed
below, and is non-returnable.
Deposit
I do not start any research before receiving a deposit of 100 euro. At the
standard rate, you get something like three hours' research (not
necessarily all in one day) dedicated solely to your enquiry, plus a report summarising the research and what has been found.
No Kin No Fee
If I don't find any of the information you ask for (or any previously-unknown family member,
alive or dead), I
return the deposit to you in full.
Even if I do find what you want, or at least one new family member (NB not necessarily a
person you have asked me to find), I do not charge any more than the
deposit until you have agreed such extra charge or ordered further
research.
It is important for you to let me know everything you know already, so that you do not surrender your deposit unnecessarily.
Certificates / Copies of Register Entries / Index References
None of the charges mentioned above entitles you to any
Certificate, photocopy, image or reference I may obtain in the course of my
research. I can supply such documents or references for an
extra charge.
Family tree
None of the charges mentioned above entitles you to any family
tree (descendant tree or pedigree) I may produce in the course of my research.
I can supply such documents (on paper or in electronic form) for an
extra
charge.
Travel
Extra charges will apply for travel outside County
Dublin.
