To print from Internet Explorer, select File / Print...
In the Print dialog box
Ensure that the correct printer is selected (easy if you only have one, but nowadays users often have several, what with fax, .pdf converters, wireless networks, etc)
In Page Range, select Pages, set Pages to 1
Press OK
